Revolution Muay Thai · Gym News
There are gyms that talk about world-class training, and there are gyms that have world champions walking through the door. This month, Revolution Muay Thai Phuket is proud to welcome one of kickboxing's most feared strikers to train on our mats: Marat Grigorian, a three-time Glory Kickboxing World Champion and one of the most active featherweights on the ONE Championship roster.
For anyone booking a training camp with us, this is a rare chance to share a ring with a fighter who has spent over a decade competing at the very top of the sport.
Who Is Marat Grigorian?
Marat Grigorian was born in 1991 in the small agricultural town of Talin, Armenia. His family moved abroad twice during his childhood in search of better opportunities, eventually settling in Antwerp, Belgium, when Marat was nine. It was there, adjusting to a new country, that a young Grigorian first walked into a kickboxing gym — a decision that would define the rest of his life.
He won his first fight at just 12 years old, and by 18 he was already challenging for a world title, becoming the youngest fighter ever to compete for an It's Showtime belt. He later relocated to the Netherlands to train at Hemmers Gym in Breda, a move that opened the door to fights against the best strikers in the world.
A Career Built on Knockouts and Titles
Grigorian's résumé speaks for itself. Over more than 80 professional bouts, he has become known for a technical, relentlessly aggressive style and genuine knockout power in either hand or leg.
Highlights of his career include:
- Three-time Glory Kickboxing World Champion, with two successful defenses of the Glory Lightweight title
- K-1 -70kg Championship winner, claiming the title with three consecutive knockouts in a single night
- A stunning 29-second knockout of Superbon Banchamek in 2018, voted Knockout of the Year
- A Fight of the Year award for his 2019 war with Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, a rival he has faced five times
- Since 2020, a mainstay of ONE Championship's featherweight kickboxing division, twice challenging for the ONE World Title
Now in his mid-thirties and still one of the most active strikers on the global stage, Grigorian remains a fixture in ONE Championship's stacked featherweight kickboxing scene — a veteran presence with the sharp hands and heavy legs that have kept him at the top for over a decade.
Training Alongside a Champion in Phuket
Guests joining a training camp at Revolution Muay Thai Phuket this month will have the chance to train in the same space as Grigorian — watching pad work, drilling technique, and picking up habits from someone who has shared the ring with names like Chingiz Allazov, Superbon, and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong.
For fighters and hobbyists alike, this is exactly the kind of environment we aim to build at Revolution Gym: a place close to Surin Beach where serious training happens every day, and where the line between "gym" and "world-class camp" starts to blur.
